Telthis I was the second Emperor of Valorum and the eldest son of Rhaedestus. His reign was marked with a few minor rebellions among nobles attempting to gain greater political autonomy, and the final centralization of provincial power in the hands of the Emperor and his council.

Appearance[]

Telthis inherited the large and stern features of his father, but not the balding. He was rare to smile.

History[]

Telthis ascended the throne upon the death of his father in 24 A.R. He reigned for 23 years.

Telthis adopted a policy of lenience with the nobility. He attempted to balance his centralization reforms with the interests of the nobility, as he was well aware of the bitterness brought with the loss of many of the privileges that the nobility had previously enjoyed. When rebellions inevitably reared their heads, Telthis was quick to mobilize and end the rebellion, before it grew any larger. In this manner, he confronted no more than half a province at a time.

Telthis had three unhappy marriages which bore him no children. In the year 47 A.R., at age 61, Telthis died from a fever, and the throne passed to his only brother, Magnus.
