Adamant is exceptionally strong and hard. It is slightly softer than diamond and around as strong as high-quality steel. It is only possible to melt it once, from the ore; afterwards it is impossible to heat it to a liquid or a gas.
It is best known for its resistance to divine power. Immortals are incapable of touching or passing through adamant, and it presents an insurmountable obstacle to them. Magic is similiarly useless. However, sufficient application of material force is capable of breaking it.
- Adamant, as used on the wiki, is derived from Greek Mythology.
